Clinical study on Sjögren’s disease

Sjögren’s disease is an autoimmune systemic condition that primarily affects the body’s exocrine glands, such as the salivary and tear glands. These glands become inflamed and function poorly, leading mainly to dry mouth and dry eyes. Because the disease is systemic, it can also affect other organs, including the heart. Sjögren’s disease mainly affects women, and there are currently no effective treatments. The need for better therapies is significant, and our preliminary studies show promising results.

Study

A randomized study has started at Källmarkskliniken in Solna which takes 12 weeks to complete. During the final 6 weeks, all participants receive active treatment. The first participant was enrolled on November 7 and received their first Inmest treatment. The remaining 29 participants will be enrolled over the coming weeks, and the study is expected to be completed in May–June 2025.

Update (February 2025): It is no longer possible to register interest in participating in the study.

Update (April 2025): The last patient is now being enrolled in the study in mid-April.

The hope is that the study will provide more insight into a new potential treatment method.
