Earlier this year, we received the good news that associate professor Caroline Ingre’s project “Dysautonomia in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis” has been granted funding in the form of 25% clinical research months 2025–2027 from the Center for Innovative Medicine (CIMED) at Karolinska Institutet.

Foundation member dr Alexander Juto was a co-applicant on the application and will therefore receive 25% paid working time for the next three years to work on the project. The aim is to find a marker in the blood that identifies ALS patients who are affected by autonomic dysfunction, and also to conduct a pilot study that evaluates INMEST as a treatment for dysautonomia symptoms in this patient group.
